30 Jul Tough economy, coupon use on the rise
I’m proud to announce my latest project, a coupon magazine named Freebees. In light of the hard time everyone is having economically, coupon usage is on the rise as more people try to stretch that dollar. Locally there was a need for a decent coupon magazine. The concept behind Freebees is simple. Fill the magazine with free stuff. Make it dirt cheap to buy a page, but make the client offer a decent coupon. The result? A book of great deals and savings that couponers will actually use. None of those lame “5% off” coupons here.
I felt the coupon cover should get your attention and make it very clear what is inside. A good amount of time was spent creating the Freebees mascot / logo. The intent was to create a jovial looking little bee. Ultimately, I like the resulting bee character – even if he does look overly enthusiastic about some coupons.
This bimonthly publication distributes 10,000 issues by collaborating with Papa John’s to include the magazine on the tops of pizza boxes and other traditional distribution methods. Its a tiny little thing too – about the size of an Iphone. See it for yourself.
